Best Ever Delicious Carrot Bread Recipe

Homemade carrot bread is unbeatable with tea or coffee! This vegan carrot bread recipe is one of my favorite bread recipes and the most delicious homemade bread for breakfast or afternoon tea. This amazing homemade healthier bread is made with applesauce without milk or eggs. The taste and texture is incredibly perfect and remains the best ever dairy-free homemade bread that you will love for any occasion.

Baking with freshly grated carrots is not just healthy but an easy way to boost the flavor of the bread with the natural flavor and sweet taste of carrot with or without artificial sugar or milk. Carrot is naturally sweet and adding raisins, dates and unsweetened applesauce will reduce the need for artificial sugar.

The taste and flavor of unsweetened homemade applesauce is simply the best and my favorite for most of my vegan baked goodies. Unsweetened applesauce is rich in antioxidants, flavorful, add moisture, and a perfect substitute for eggs.

Coconut Sugar is a natural palm sugar that is vegan friendly with a sweet and similar flavor to brown sugar. This nutritious sugar will keep your homemade bread soft and moist.

Raisins are dry with the perfect sweet taste and flavor that is good for every homemade bread.


  • 5 cups of all purpose flour

  • 2 cup of unsweetened applesauce

  • 1 cup of vegetable oil

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4 cup of chopped carrots

  • 1/4 cup of chopped pecans

  • 8 medium carrots (grated)

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup of coconut sugar

  • 1/2 cup of raisins


  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F

  2. Grated Carrots: Peel and grate about 8 medium carrots, you need just about 2 cups of grated carrots.

  3. In a medium bowl combine the dry ingredients together and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, stir together all the wet ingredients and add gradually the dry ingredients. Mix the ingredients together and fold in the raisins until combined.

  4. Grease 2 bread pans or loaf pans with butter or cooking spray and pour batter into the pan.

  5. Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until golden brown. Insert toothpick into the loaves to confirm.

  6. Allow bread to cool completely at room temperature.

How To Store Homemade Bread

Store bread in an airtight ceramic storage container to stay fresh for the next 3 to 4 days. You can also use the regular bread box or paper bag to keep your homemade bread fresh for the next few days!
