I love this healthier egg free Apple Crisp Dessert, the taste is super delicious! I prefer to eat it warm and plain but you can serve it with homemade vanilla ice cream or custard! This simple dairy free Apple Crisp is made with rolled oats, whole-wheat flour, ground hazelnuts, and filled with crunchy sweet apples.
FILLING
6 medium fresh Apples (chopped)
4 tablespoons Orange Juice
1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon ground Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
TOPPING
1/4 cup white whole wheat flour
1/4 cup ground hazelnuts
5 - 6 tablespoons Vegan Butter
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup Coconut Sugar
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350° F. In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients for the topping, add the wet ingredients and mix with hands until crumbs are formed and set aside.
Step 2
Peel, core and chop the apples. Combine the ingredients for the filling together in a large bowl with the chopped apples, stir to combine and transfer to 8-inch glass baking dish.
Step 3
Scatter the crisp topping on top of the filling and bake in a preheated oven for 43 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool at room temperature before serving.
