Moist and Delicious Apple Cake Recipe
This egg free and dairy free apple cake made from scratch is simply the best! This is my favorite recipe for homemade apple cake. It's so easy to make, super moist and packed with delicious apples. This cake is deeply moist, sweetened with maple syrup and filled with chopped apples.
3/4 cup plant-based butter (room temperature or slightly melted)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup almond milk
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chopped apples
1 tablespoon of white flour
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Peel and core the apples, chop or dice them as desired on a cutting board.
Mix the apples with 1 tablespoon of white flour and set aside and in a large mixing bowl, mix together room temperature butter or slightly melted plant-based butter with applesauce, stir in maple syrup and almond milk, add lemon zest or vanilla extract to boost the flavor.
In a separate medium bowl combine together all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt, you can add 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg or ground cinnamon, mix and combine dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
Grease a 9-inch cake baking pan with butter, line it with parchment paper and flour the pan with 1 tbsp of four.
Pour batter into pan and bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes. Let apple cake cool completely at room temperature before serving.
