This is incredible because nobody would ever think of adding Mango puree into a Pie Dough but it actually works and the smoothness and firmness is perfect compared to our usual Dough made without fruits. Sometimes there is need to try out some healthy new ideas in our daily menu plans that will help us to limit the amount of calories that we consume on daily basis.

This Crust is free from Sugar, Butter, Egg and Dairy, has the natural Mango Sweetness and bursting with Mango flavor. Whether you're looking for a healthy sweet homemade Pie Crust that is full of flavor for your desserts, pudding and fillings, this Plant-Based Vegan friendly Pie Crust made with fresh Mangoes and has natural flavor and sweetness of real Mango will surely satisfy your taste.

My delicious Pie Crust is perfect for anyone who loves a sweet Crust with no added Sugar and special for Vegans, Vegetarians, Weight watchers and for anyone who loves and enjoys healthier Pie Crust with real Fruits.

The recipe is easy, you need to bake the Crust before filling it if the filling doesn't require baking but if the filling require baking, you can bake is with your filling or blind bake depending on the recipe that you're using. I have some recipes with delicious healthier fillings that you can try out for your yummy Pie Crust. This low calorie Pie Crust is special, healthier and tastes so delicious.


Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh ripe Mangoes

  • 150ml Vegetable Oil

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

  • 7-9 tablespoons of water (feel the texture and add more if needed)


Instructions:

Reduced Mango Puree;

  1. Wash, peel and cut the the 2 Mangoes in small chunks or dice the Mangoes.

  2. Blend the diced Mangoes with the Fruit Mixer until smooth.

  3. Pour the puree in a medium Saucepan.

  4. Bring to a boil on a Stove at a medium to low heat while stirring constantly.

  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric for flavor and brighter colour.

  6. Stir constantly until completely reduce and thick.

  7. Transfer the thick puree to a small Bowl, and leave it at a room temperature for 10 minutes.

  8. Cover and put it in the Refrigerator to chill for at last 30 minutes.


Pie Crust:

  1. Combine the dry ingredients together.

  2. Transfer the mixed dry ingredients to a food processor or you can still mix with your hands.

  3. Add the reduced Mango puree made from 2 Mangoes.

  4. Mix and add 150ml of Vegetable Oil.

  5. Feel the texture and add water gradually starting from just 1 tablespoon.

  6. Roll out the Dough and fit it comfortably in your Pie Plate or Pie Pan.

  7. Bake it in a preheated Oven for 20-25 minutes (350° F) if your filling doesn't require baking or blind bake for 10-12 minutes before adding filling and baking some more depending on the recipe that you're using.
